Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Manchester United are in talks with the club to agree a fee for 16-year-old wonderkid Charlie McNeill, who has already declared his intention to leave the Etihad this summer.
McNeill announced on his Instagram he was to leave City last month, writting: ‘A massive thank you to Man City for everything over the past six years. It’s been such a pleasure to play with some amazing players and I’ve made some amazing friends too. Thanks to all the staff and players for helping me develop as a player and also as a person. I wish everyone the very best’.
According to the daily Mail, Manchester United are confident of signing the 600-goal academy striker from Manchester City. City hope to include a number of performance-related clauses but are at a stalemate with United.
Talks have been slow, with City pushing for a substantial seven-figure sum, given his immense scoring record and as he has appeared for England at youth level.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and City Xtra, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
