Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Manchester City and Barcelona are the main candidates for Benfica defender Ruben Dias.
The 22-year-old has continued to establish himself as a key figure for the Portuguese giants this season, making 39 appearances across all competitions while chipping in with three goals and two assists to show an ability to make an impact at the opposite end of the pitch too
According to newspaper Record_Portugal via Sport_Witness, Manchester City and Barcelona are the main candidates in the race for centre-back Ruben Dias.
However, the report further says Benfica can’t hold players with large salaries, and Dias currently earns €2M per season. Barcelona would only spend up to €40m on him.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
45-50m I will take it.

Dias would be great too.

If we get both Ruben Dias and Milan Skiriniar I am a happy man

Ruben Dias is not my top choice. That would be Varane or Skriniar. These guys are at Laporte-level which we need. But Dias or Pau Torres would be perfect for rotation. I want rid of Otamendi and Stones. So tired of seeing them fuck-up every other game.

Transfer fees will go right down after all that’s going on. PL are propped up by vast sums of broadcast revenue whereas all other leagues don’t get that and will be in financial difficulties. It’ll be interesting to see what happens once the window opens.
