Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims West Ham are braced for a battle to hold on to their star midfielder Declan Rice.
The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from West Ham during last transfer window, but is still at the club.
Rice is regarded among the best midfielders in the country, with his performances for both West Ham and England having been consistently superb for some time now.
The England Midfield star could spark a bidding war as he is reportedly a target of Manchester City, United and Chelsea this summer, with West Ham facing a battle to hang onto the £100million-rated midfielder.
According to Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law, West Ham’s January inactivity has increased the chance of big summer bids for Declan Rice, and may have missed their best chance to keep him past this season.
Also, as per a seperate report from talkSPORT’s Alex Cross, Rice will leave West Ham in the summer because of what happened during the January transfer window.
The reporter believes the moves that were not made add up to the star midfielder departing at the end of the season because of the lack of ambition, and that one mooted move shows the club knows that.
The England International has already turned down two contract offers from the club, although his current deal is not due to expire until 2024 and the club can exercise a one-year extension.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
Big waste of money. Use it to sign a better and cheaper CDM, LB, and ST. https://t.co/7VdIk90Nt0

No more £100M signings, it’s just not worth it!

I think we should pass on this one. Rodri is good, we should look for a replacement for Fernandino elsewhere, someone cheaper who we can develop. Rice will be heavily overpriced, look at jack, he is a good player but his being English had him overpriced
