Manchester City have only signed one new player this summer, Savinho from Troyes, on a five-year deal. Despite this, they have been linked with players from various clubs. Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who City were interested in, had a release clause set at £60m with add-ons of £8m which has now expired. Eze has impressed with 26 goals and 17 assists in 124 appearances for Palace, making negotiations necessary for City to acquire him before the end of the transfer window.

With the release clause no longer active, City will have to negotiate with Palace if they want to sign Eze. The 26-year-old’s unique skills have caught the attention of pundits and with time running out in the transfer window, City will need to work with Palace to strike a deal agreeable to both sides.
