Despite high expectations and a hefty price tag, new signings at Manchester City have often struggled to adapt quickly, as seen with Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish. Silva went from being a top winger at AS Monaco to struggling in his debut season with City before eventually finding his form. Grealish, on the other hand, has yet to make a significant impact at City since his move from Aston Villa, with Jamie O’Hara noting a change in his style of play. However, O’Hara believes that Grealish can still rediscover his entertainment value on the pitch once he returns to his best form.
At City, Grealish has had to adjust to Pep Guardiola’s positional demands and no longer has the same freedom he enjoyed at Aston Villa, leading to a change in his playing style. Despite this, there are signs that Grealish can still be a key player for City, as shown in his second season at the club when he was impactful and entertaining on the pitch. If Grealish can regain his form and confidence, there is potential for him to once again become a standout player and entertainer for Manchester City.
