Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has responded to the Club’s decision to raise season ticket prices, causing backlash from supporters.

Officials from the Etihad Stadium announced that season ticket prices would be increasing for the 2024/25 season, marking nearly a decade of annual price hikes for fans.

Manchester City has raised season ticket prices by an average of approximately six percent across the Etihad Stadium, following a trend seen in other Premier League clubs.

The decision was strongly opposed by major Manchester City supporter groups, criticizing Pep Guardiola for his calls for support while the club increases ticket prices.

In his first media appearance after the break and the price increase announcement, Guardiola shared his thoughts on the club’s decision and the backlash from supporters.

“The fans will still support us at the start of the game, unconditionally,” Guardiola said. “I understand it’s a sensitive issue, and we will respect all opinions.”

When asked about the fans’ frustration over the continuous rise in ticket prices, Guardiola responded, “Absolutely, absolutely.”

Manchester City will face Arsenal next, with injuries ruling out players like Kyle Walker and John Stones. However, Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, and Manuel Akanji are expected to be available.

City also has a challenging schedule in April, including an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea and a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
