Paris Saint-Germain has a history of signing players for large sums of money but has yet to win a Champions League trophy. In a recent move, the French club has made a contract offer to sign Julian Alvarez from Manchester City. City could make a significant profit on Alvarez, who has impressed since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2022, scoring 36 goals in 103 appearances. However, losing Alvarez would mean City losing an important attacking figure from their squad, with other clubs like Atletico Madrid also expressing interest in the player.
The potential transfer fee for Alvarez is around 70-80M €, with City asking for a substantial amount for the striker they signed for just £14m. PSG’s move to sign Alvarez has been validated by Luis Enrique, making it a significant move for the French club in their pursuit of success. The 24-year-old’s impressive goal-scoring record makes him an attractive prospect for top clubs, but City will have to weigh up the financial gain against losing an important player if they decide to sell Alvarez.
