Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have rejected a £17 million bid from Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest for Issa Kabore.
A Burkina Faso international, Kabore is in the middle of a two-year long loan spell at Troyes in Ligue 1 and now faces being recalled to England well ahead of time.
The 21-year-old played an important role as Troyes managed to stave off relegation during the 2021/22 season, making 32 appearances in all competitions, registering two assists, seven cautions and two sending offs, with his performances catching the attention of Premier League clubs.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, newly-promoted Premier League side Nottingham Forest have had a £17 million bid turned down by Manchester City for Issa Kabore.
Additional details from Fabrizio Romano also revealed that the Saints are leading the race for the player, as they seek a loan move to be sanctioned by Etihad officials.
Kabore is contracted to the reigning English champions until the summer of 2025, but first team chances under Pep Guardiola might continue to be rare with Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo ahead of him in the pecking order.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
