A lot of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relayed reports that Aston Villa are set to fend off transfer interest for their star midfielder Jack Grealish.
The 25-year-old featured on City’s list of potential recruits during the last transfer window and he was admired at Etihad, but there were no discussions with Villa during the summer over a deal.
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have all been also credited with an interest in the England international.
According to Matt Law for The Telegraph, Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has been given a price tag of at least £100 million.
A move away seems likely despite Villa’s strong start to the season. The midfielder has been a key part of the clubs’ success this campaign providing five Premier League goals and a further five assists – making him joint-third in the division for goal involvements.
The Citizens would need to break the transfer record for a British player – currently held at £85million by Gareth Bale as well as the club’s transfer record – currently held at £64m by Ruben Dias in order to land him.

He’d struggle to make the bench at City. Let Villa keep him. I’d be more tempted by signing Luis for £25m.

It’s unbelievable the market is still so inflated, Grealish 5 years ago would be at most something like 40 million, clubs think any good player is worth stupid amounts

I know he wants to help the club but signing that new deal makes him unobtainable. No ones paying more than 70 mil for him. He’s gonna end up like Zaha.

Thankfully we don’t need him. Haaland is all we need.

I’d love to see Grealish in a city top, but I wouldn’t be willing to break our transfer record for it.
We should go all out for Haaland, I think that’s the safest bet, it’s him or Mbappe but I think Mbappe would be too expensive.
But obviously I have no power over transfers lol
