Matheus Nunes suggested that Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes could excel in an outfield position due to his exceptional ball-playing skills. Despite being a goalkeeper, Ederson showcased his technique by scoring a penalty in a Champions League semi-final shootout. Nunes believes Ederson could easily play in midfield and even take set-pieces for the team.
While Ederson’s ability to play in midfield may be debated, his skill in taking set-pieces is unquestionable. With his precise ball-striking technique, Ederson could potentially provide excellent delivery for his teammates from corner kicks, free kicks, and goal kicks. Additionally, his shot power and penalty-taking abilities could offer Manchester City additional attacking options during games.
Despite Ederson’s potential to contribute in midfield and with set-pieces, it remains to be seen whether he will be given the opportunity to do so in actual matches. With other talented players like Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden on the team, it may be challenging for Ederson to take on additional responsibilities beyond his role as a goalkeeper. However, his versatility and skill on the ball make him a unique asset for Manchester City.
