Brazilian media has reported that Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool are interested in Sport fullback Pedro Lima, who has been described as a ‘jewel’. Scouts from all three English clubs have been monitoring the player, with Manchester City scout Audrio Magalhães sitting next to Lima’s agent in a VIP box during a recent match. Sport chief João Marcelo Barros mentioned that Lima has been attracting interest from scouts around the world.
Despite being a second division club and playing in a lesser-known state championship in Brazil, Lima’s talent has not gone unnoticed by European clubs. His release clause stands at €12m, a figure that is reasonable for potential suitors. While it may come as a surprise that top English clubs are interested in Lima, the report suggests that this interest is genuine and we will have to wait and see if Manchester City, Chelsea, or Liverpool will make a move to sign him.
