Manchester City sources have clarified the future of Kevin De Bruyne amidst reports of a potential move to Saudi Arabia. Despite speculation surrounding his future, De Bruyne’s contract with City runs until 2025 with no progress on an extension.
Reports of an agreement with Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad were met with a social media frenzy among football fans, but Saudi sources have denied these claims. Manchester City is reportedly calm and not expecting De Bruyne to leave, with the player set to return to training in August.
While City may be considering potential successors to De Bruyne, such as Jamal Musiala or Florian Wirtz, any swoop for these players is unlikely this summer. The club may also look to recruit in attacking midfield roles, with Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze being a name of interest. However, it is unclear if City will make an official offer for Eze this transfer window.
