Eagle-eyed viewers of Manchester City’s new Netflix documentary have noticed midfielder Maximo Perrone appearing in first-team training months before officially joining the Etihad Stadium.
The 21-year-old, currently on loan at La Liga club UD Las Palmas, was part of the Manchester City squad that achieved a historic treble last season, as documented in the new Netflix series.
The six-part docuseries titled ‘Together: Treble Winners’ chronicles the Sky Blues’ remarkable 2022/23 campaign and marks Manchester City’s second appearance on a global streaming platform after Amazon Prime’s ‘All or Nothing’ series in 2017/18.
Manchester City became the first Premier League club to partner with Netflix for a reported seven-figure sum for the exclusive series.
All episodes were released simultaneously, and fans watching the first episode were surprised to see Maximo Perrone training with the first team even though he didn’t officially sign with the club until January 2023.
The initial episode covers the early part of Manchester City’s season, showcasing behind-the-scenes footage of pre-season preparations and matches against various opponents.
Despite Perrone’s later arrival, he was seen participating in first-team training sessions at the City Football Academy before eventually making his debut for Manchester City against Bournemouth in late February.
Following his involvement in the treble-winning squad and his appearances in the FA Cup campaign, Perrone may potentially rejoin Guardiola’s squad next season after completing his loan spell in La Liga.
Perrone has made 24 La Liga appearances for Las Palmas so far this season.
