Manchester City fans were impressed with Ilkay Gundogan’s impressive display against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns Stadium on Tuesday Night.
The Man City midfielder was the best player on the pitch as they thumped West Brom 5-0, their 11th straight win in all competitions and seventh in a row in the Premier League.
Gündoğan has been the steady presence in the Manchester City engine room, and on the quiet, has already been playing the ‘De Bruyne role’.
The €40m-rated Germany international has proven his worth time and again this year, and have secured his role as a regular for Pep Guardiola’s side becoming a key figure in Man City’s attack.
His brace against West Bromwich took him to seven goals in his last eight Premier League games—already his career-best seasonal tally in terms of goals scored.
This was one of his best displays of the season in a campaign where he has been excellent. Its a shame he was not given the chance to complete his hat-trick with an early substitution.
Many City fans after the match took to Twitter to hail Gundogan’s ‘amazing’ and ‘world class’ performance, with some comparing him with Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes.

He’s been amazing it’s crazy how many city fans wanted him out last season and I told them he’s quality he’s not be the best but he’s been top 5 in the prem for midfielders for sure. Bruno has been the best he has put a good manutd close to a incredible city team
