Manchester City officials are preparing to push ahead with a new contract for midfielder Kevin De Bruyne this summer.
The 32-year-old is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium at the end of next season and has been linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia this summer, should Manchester City want to cash in on their most senior first-team star.
The 32-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in the next year however, with Saudi Arabian and MLS clubs having both registered an interest in signing De Bruyne.
In an attempt to fend off transfer interest from the Middle East and USA, Manchester City are reportedly set to ‘accelerate’ contract extension talks with De Bruyne, as Etihad executives ‘push’ to agree a new deal.
