Manchester City have been offered Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, who is considered surplus to requirements by PSG. The Frenchman has only started in two matches this season under head coach Luis Enrique, despite the injury to the club’s main striker Goncalo Ramos. It is likely that Muani will be let go if a suitable offer comes in during the next transfer window, as he was signed for £70m last year but is unlikely to fetch that much in January.
Muani is not just on Manchester City’s radar, but Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle have also been made aware of his availability. With Arsenal and Chelsea being the most likely to make an approach, as both clubs were in the market for a striker in the previous transfer window. Pep Guardiola’s side could use a backup option for Erling Haaland, who has been leading the line for the team. Reports suggest City considered bids for other strikers but the deals did not materialize.
While Muani could be an option for Manchester City, there is a feeling that the club may prefer a cheaper alternative who is willing to be a backup option. The club may be looking for a striker who is content with a bench role and not demanding significant playing time.
