Manchester City are considering signing FC Copenhagen striker Orri Oskarsson as a replacement for Julian Alvarez. Pep Guardiola is looking to bring in a backup option for Erling Haaland, with Oskarsson being high on the list of forwards being targeted. The Icelandic international is expected to cost around €20m, but other Premier League clubs, as well as Real Sociedad and Porto, are also pursuing his signature.

Oskarsson came through the academy at Grotta before moving to FC Copenhagen in 2020. He has been prolific for the club’s Under 19s and senior team, scoring 15 goals during the 2023/24 season. The teenager also made his first international appearance for Iceland and has been in outstanding form in recent weeks, scoring 7 times in his last 11 matches. City have not yet made an offer for Oskarsson, but they are keen on reinforcing their frontline.

City will face competition from other English top-flight clubs in the race to sign Oskarsson. While no official offer has been made yet, City may decide to make a concerted effort to sign the young striker before the transfer deadline on Friday night. Oskarsson’s talent and potential have attracted interest from multiple teams, making him a sought-after target in the transfer market.
