Manchester City are reportedly considering making a bid for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi after his move to Newcastle fell through. Fans are divided on whether City really need another centre-back, with some feeling that they already have a strong lineup with players like Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Manuel Akanji.
Manager Pep Guardiola has a wealth of options in the centre of defence, with several quality players to choose from. However, with Stones’ contract set to expire next summer, there may be a need to bring in a replacement. This could open the door for City to make a move for Guehi, who is likely to be available for a lower fee in the upcoming transfer windows.
Guehi is expected to leave Palace either in January or next summer, as he is not planning to sign a new contract. The 24-year-old’s availability has also attracted interest from other clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham. It remains to be seen whether City will ultimately make a move for the defender.
