Manchester City have informed Julian Alvarez and his agents that they will not be selling him this summer despite his desire to leave due to a lack of game time. The Cityzens have made it clear that they will not entertain any bids for the player before the transfer window closes next month, with manager Pep Guardiola reassuring Alvarez about his starting opportunities.
Alvarez is attracting interest from several top clubs, including Chelsea, PSG, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. PSG, in particular, may have the best chance of tempting City into selling as they have financial resources and are looking for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe. However, Guardiola’s reassurances have reportedly convinced Alvarez to stay at Manchester City for now.
In addition to Alvarez, there are other City players who are seeking moves away from the club. Goalkeeper Ederson is reportedly keen on joining Al-Nassr for £50m, but the Saudi Arabian club is only prepared to pay between £25m and £35m. There are also doubts about the futures of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, but it is believed that they will stay at the Etihad for another season.
