Manchester City have rejected offers of up to £30m for 21-year-old midfielder James McAtee despite interest from multiple clubs. Manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that McAtee will remain part of the first team set-up this season after impressing during pre-season.
McAtee spent the last two years on loan at Sheffield United and returned to City determined to prove himself. Despite only having played a few minutes in recent league fixtures, City are keen to tie him down to a new contract and secure his future at the club amidst interest from clubs such as Chelsea, Stuttgart, Leicester, and others.
Although several teams have made approaches for McAtee, including Chelsea and a host of other European clubs, it seems likely that he will remain at Manchester City for the foreseeable future as the Premier League champions are determined to keep hold of their talented young midfielder.
