Manchester City are considering a move for Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze and Wolves winger Pedro Neto after deciding to sell Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid for a fee of around €95m. Manager Pep Guardiola stated that the club is unlikely to sign more players this summer unless someone leaves, hinting at the need to replace Alvarez before the transfer window closes.

City have been monitoring Eze, who has a release clause of £65m in his contract, attracting interest from other clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool. On the other hand, a potential deal for Neto comes with substantial risk due to his injury record, having spent significant time on the sidelines with various injuries since 2019. Despite Neto’s talent, his fee of around £60m has deterred City and other clubs from making a move so far.

The Cityzens will need to act quickly to secure replacements for departing players like Alvarez, with the transfer window closing on August 30th. While Eze and Neto are both attractive options, City may need to carefully consider the risks involved, especially with Neto’s injury history and high asking price. Guardiola’s stance on potential signings suggests a cautious approach to recruitment for the Premier League champions.
