Manchester City is known for developing talented young players within the club, with successful academy sides and players like Phil Foden and Oscar Bobb rising to prominence in the senior squad. While City has a history of nurturing young talents, they are also adept at scouting and signing promising players from other clubs, as seen with Bobb. Recently, City scouts were impressed by 17-year-old Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda during a Super Cup match against Porto. Quenda, who has been followed since he was 15, showcased maturity and skill on the field, scoring a goal in his senior debut for Sporting.
Quenda has made a name for himself with 11 goals and nine assists in 33 combined youth appearances for Sporting, and his performance against Porto caught the eye of City’s scouts. Described as a talented player with exciting potential, Quenda’s progress will be closely monitored by City as he continues to impress. It remains to be seen if the Portuguese teenager will attract further interest from Manchester City throughout the upcoming season, as he looks to build on his early success and establish himself as a future star in the football world.
