Former Manchester City player Raheem Sterling is being tipped to potentially be a game-changer for Arsenal in the title race, if he can regain his top form under manager Mikel Arteta. Chris Sutton believes that Sterling has the ability to make a significant impact at Arsenal, similar to his time at City, where he was a key player.

After struggling at Chelsea for two seasons, Sterling was transferred to Arsenal for £50m in the summer of 2022. He failed to perform to his usual standards at Chelsea, scoring only 19 goals in 81 appearances. However, if he can return to his previous level of performance, he could be a valuable addition to Arsenal’s attacking options.

Arsenal now have more depth in their attack compared to City, with the addition of Sterling providing them with another option alongside other talented wingers like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. On the other hand, Manchester City’s squad may lack backup options for their star striker Erling Haaland. Guardiola’s preference for a streamlined squad could be a risk considering the number of matches they will be playing in the upcoming season.
