Manchester City are close to agreeing on a contract extension with Oscar Bobb according to a new report.

The young Norwegian has emerged as another fantastic talent at City, making his first-team debut for the club earlier this season.

Bobb had long impressed in City’s academy, and had been named the EDS Player of the Season for two years running.

He was promoted to the first-team by Pep Guardiola ahead of 2023/24 and so far, Bobb has managed to catch the eye across a handful of appearances.

Bobb has so far recorded appearances in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and Carabao Cup, whilst also earning his first senior caps for Norway in which he has also provided goals and assists in the process.

It is brilliant for the fans to get to watch another top young talent emerging at the club.

According to 90min, the Premier League champions are closing in on an agreement with Oscar Bobb over a new contract.

They add that Union Berlin, Lazio and Atalanta had an interest in the young Norwegian winger last summer. But City kept their promising young playmaker and he was promoted to the first team by Pep Guardiola.

Furthermore, they report that Bobb’s impressive start to his City career had caught the eye of Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen. But the Premier League champions have moved quickly to secure Bobb on a new contract.

It is further detailed that the 20-year-old forward is known to be happy at Manchester City and is keen to continue his development under manager Pep Guardiola.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

@Smikz_1: “He’s here to stay, Messi regen, needs more playing time to showcase his real talent”

@Cabello17i: “The closest thing to Leo Messi. Sign that contract boy!”

@UziTurt: “Get it done, ASAP.”

@Andrew18: “The future is so bright for us”

@Daviesbrn: “Needs to be given more minutes”

Bobb has the talent to spend many years at City

It is lovely to hear Man City want to extend Oscar Bobby’s contract. Clearly, he really loves playing for us and has really valued his time at the club so far.

It is no easy feat to spend your whole career at one club, and Bobb – described as ‘fantastic’ on the ball by Arsenal maestro Martin Odegaard – will have to work his socks off in order to achieve that. But there is no denying how high his potential is.

If he grinds every single day, then he may well finish his career as a one-club man.
