Kevin De Bruyne has praised Manchester City teammate Jeremy Doku, saying he has suddenly gotten ‘a lot better’ very recently.

The midfielder has been speaking to Het Nieuwsblad about his return to the national team following another busy season with Manchester City.

He’s faced frustration this year as he spent large periods of the season out of action, with a hamstring injury ruling him out for 127 days between August and December.

De Bruyne was not the only Manchester City to face frustration on that front this season either, with injuries also hampering Doku throughout the campaign.

He ultimately only played in 49% of the available minutes for Manchester City in the Premier League, with a muscle injury seeing him spend 32 days out and miss nine games between December 4th and January 5th.

Doku was able to make an impact in short bursts, though, particularly towards the end of the season, when he bagged assists against Tottenham and West Ham, a goal in the FA Cup final and was a menace for Real Madrid to deal with as the two sides battled in the Champions League.

One player who certainly noticed his performances was De Bruyne, who is at pains to explain where a sudden improvement came from.
