Pep Guardiola has now revealed that he is delighted with Manchester City No.10 Jack Grealish – who has been in the spotlight across recent weeks.

England international has been under a lot of pressure lately, with many sections of the media suggesting that he has lost his place to Jeremy Doku.

Chris Sutton even claimed that Grealish is “in a bit of bother” due to the Belgian’s phenomenal performances.

When asked for his thoughts on the £100m man, Guardiola reaffirmed his faith in the 28-year-old, claiming that Manchester City still “need” him despite Doku’s brilliance.

“If he played like he played in Switzerland,” Pep Guardiola said in a recent press conference, when quizzed on what his plans are for Jack Grealish this season given the success of Jeremy Doku during the opening months.

Guardiola continued, “I said before, we trust a lot in him and his ability. He has to fight to play as best as possible in every single action and game.

“We need him, we need everyone and I’m very pleased for the game he played (against BSC Young Boys).”

Grealish will hopefully take some confidence from those comments, as Guardiola’s treatment of the £300,000-a-week man in recent weeks has been telling.
