Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Kalidou Koulibaly has admitted he ‘cannot promise’ he will end his career at Napoli amid City’s interest in him.
Koulibaly, who is a genuine target for City this summer has been linked with a move away from Naples for several transfer windows now, after the defender established himself as one of Europe’s most formidable defenders.
Guardiola is desperate to find a reliable centre-back partner for Aymeric Laporte and has identified the 29-year-old as a priority signing.
Koulibaly’s most recent comments on his future have appeared to offer City hope of securing a deal this summer. He conceded he could be on the move ahead of the 2020-21.
“I would love to stay at Napoli for life, but I can’t make promises,” Koulibaly told Radio Kiss Kiss via Italia Football .
“I am part of the project and at the end of the season I will speak to the directors. Right now, my mind is 100% on the pitch.”
The former Genk youngster is allegedly valued by his current side in the region of £90m, although a recent report claimed that he could be available for £65m this summer.
