Manchester City have not put together an eye-watering £433million package to land Lionel Messi in the summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old has been linked with Pep Guardiola’s side, with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain reported to be in the race for the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.
It has been reported that the the Cityzens offered the forward a five-year contract worth £600m when they approached him in the latter stages of 2020, but have now presented the Barca captain with a new package of £430m.
But BBC Sport and Sky Sports are reporting that City are “distancing themselves from links” with the forward, and that “there have been no offers made, either in the summer, or since, and there are no talks.
Messi will wait until the end of the season to decide his future and whether to extend his contract at Barca, where he has spent his entire professional career.

when a spokesperson has to come out and say nothing is going on, you know there is something going on otherwise they wouldn’t bother
