Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head again next summer, for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian goal machine is one of the most exciting young talents in world football at the moment and will surely be earning a big move to one of Europe’s super-clubs before too long, and it may be City are in the strongest position to strike a deal.
There are a host of European clubs interested in Haaland, however, with Manchester City among those weighing up whether to activate the €75m release clause in his contract.
City are keen on Haaland following their failure to land Harry Kane from Spurs. It won’t come as a surprise if the Premier League winners decide to make him a priority, either in January or next summer.
According to the Sun, Man City and United are set to go head-to-head again next summer, for Erling Haaland.
The report claims Man City hope the fact Haaland has followed them since he was a boy – when his dad Alfie played for them – could prove to be a key factor.
To prise him away could cost as much as €150million, whereas if City wait until next summer, they could trigger a €75m release clause in his contract.
The 21-year-old was recently voted as UEFA’s Forward of the Year last week, with the Norwegian highly expected to form football’s next biggest rivalry up against Kylian Mbappe.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

There is no way he signs for United..his father is a blue and always a blue…its the same issue as to where Ronaldo couldn’t sign for city so I’m positive with his father’s backing we will get him

Not feared at all. He will choose us over them

As much as I’d like him, I think they will end up getting him. They’ll pay the wages, the agents fees. We will get to a point and refuse. Raiola will use them both to squeeze every last penny out of United and he’ll go there.
