Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claim the club is set to battle it out with Manchester united for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish’s signature in the January transfer window.
The England international who is having a superb campaign this season featured on City’s list of potential recruits during the last transfer window and he was admired at Etihad, but there were no discussions with Villa during the summer over a deal.
The 25-year-old penned a new five-year deal in September worth £130,000-a-week but according to The Mirror, Manchester City intend to ‘register their interest’ in Jack Grealish, and ‘test the water’ in January ahead a looming summer battle for the midfielder.

The report also claims that both Manchester United and Liverpool will try to sign him in January, but it is ‘very unlikely’ Aston Villa will sell their captain until the summer as they want £100m for the England international.
United have also been strongly linked with a move for the playmaker but failed to meet Villa’s £80million price tag last summer. While Premier League champions Liverpool are also believed to be weighing up a move for Grealish amid doubts over Mohamed Salah’s future on Merseyside.
Reports suggest Villa Park chiefs value him at around £100m – a price which hasn’t put off City boss Pep Guardiola, who is big admirer of the player.

He is exactly what we need, a lw who can create and get past defenders, forcing out fouls, put him next to de bruyne and they’ll do wonders

He’s a David Silva replacement (obviously not the same level) but that creative support that Kev clearly needs. Think he’ll be far too expensive though, doubt we’ll get him.

Sorry I wasn’t disagreeing with you, more making the point that he will fill the creative void left by David leaving, whilst not being the same player.
