Man City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club will not relaunch a bid for Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Citizens have been trying to sign Koulibaly for much of the transfer window. It’s been a hard fight, with the Serie A club’s president wanting a huge fee and being unrealistic regarding his prospects of getting it.
According to Tuttosport relayed by Sport Illustrated, City have given up on their lengthy pursuit of Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly, believed to be a target for PSG, and will instead focus on a potential move for Atlético Madrid’s José Giménez.
City are reported to be targeting Sevilla’s Diego Carlos and Atletico Maldrid’s Jose Giménez as alternatives if Napoli are not prepared to lower their demands of about €80m (£73.2m) for the center-back.

Seems like a strategy with the Kounde reports also coming out, just letting Napoli know we’re not afraid to back away from the deal.— Alberto Buckley (@Abuckley000) September 17, 2020
Napoli are very stubborn when it comes to doing business with City, l think Gimenez is the way to go. Kk is too xpensive for his age— Caddas Mhone (@Caddasmhone1) September 17, 2020
Heard criticism in regards to Gimenez regarding his ball playing ability, on top of that he is injury prone
