David Silva has bid farewell to Manchester City‘s Etihad Stadium after 10 years of loyal service to the club, as the Cityzens capped off their star man’s goodbye with a landmark victory over Real Madrid.
Friday night’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid is his final match to be played at the Etihad this season as the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all be played on neutral soil, in Portugal.
Silva took to Twitter with a poignant image showing the Spaniard spending a moment to himself looking out on the pitch, reflecting on what has been a decorated spell with the club.

Silva’s final league game was at an empty stadium because of coronavirus restrictions, but he has been assured by manager Pep Guardiola of an invite back to Manchester when fans can return, so the playmaker can receive a proper farewell.
The only trophy missing from the Spaniards cabinet is arguably the biggest one of all. Could we see Pep Guardiola and the team give Silva the dream send off by lifting the trophy?
