This weekend, Manchester City or Tottenham will find out who their opponents will be in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup, as plans for the next stage of the competition have been confirmed.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team is set to face Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Manchester City has been winless and goalless in five previous visits to Spurs’ new stadium but managed to win the FA Cup trophy last season after beating Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United. City thumped Huddersfield in the third round earlier this month to set up a fourth clash against Ange Postecoglou’s side and are currently three points ahead of Tottenham in the Premier League title race.
The Emirates FA Cup fifth round draw will take place on Sunday, January 28th and will be broadcast live on ITV 1 in the United Kingdom. Alternatively, updates will be available through City Xtra’s Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages, as well as live coverage and reaction on YouTube.
Fifth round ties are scheduled to be played the week commencing Monday, February 26th. Manchester City or Tottenham will be ball number 11 in the fifth round draw, and they could potentially face teams such as Watford, Southampton, AFC Bournemouth, and others based on the ball numbers.
