Jurgen Klopp is excited about the clash against Manchester City this weekend and believes Liverpool’s 7-1 thrashing of Rangers at Ibrox will spur the team in the right direction.
Liverpool have been City’s chief title rival in recent seasons but have had a wretched start to their league campaign with only two wins in eight but they ran riot against the Govan men in their Champions League clash in Glasgow.
Rangers took the lead in the 17th minute through Scott Arfield but the Reds reasserted themselves and Roberto Firmino grabbed a double and fellow striker Darwin Nunez added a third before substitute Mo Salah scored three goals in six minutes and 12 seconds – the fastest Champions League hat-trick – with Harvey Elliott notching the seventh as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side crumbled.
Speaking in the post-match interview after Liverpool’s Champions League encounter against Rangers as quoted by Daily Mail, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is excited for the weekend’s clash against Manchester City and has labelled them as the ‘best team in the world’.
“That is good but we all know who we are welcoming on Sunday and this will be a different game. But it’s better to go into the game feeling like we do tonight! We will see, I am always ready for a change in the right direction, but we will see”
“We don’t have to make a big thing of it but the best football team in the world right now is coming to Anfield on Sunday. We will see what we can do.”
These Klopp’s comments shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
