Nottingham Forest will host the Premier League champions on Sunday in what could be described as a “must-win” match for both sides. While Forest need the 3 points to increase their chance of remaining in the English top-flight beyond this season, Manchester City “couldn’t afford to lose a point” in the title race.

The Sky Blues have become ruthless in their last few Premier League matches, they have scored at least four goals in each of their last four matches. The latest one was a 4-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in the midweek.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, were winless in their last three matches. Their last win was against Fulham early this month. The victory was followed by a defeat against Tottenham, a 1-1 draw against Wolves, and 2-0 defeat to Everton last weekend.

Manchester City Injury Updates Ahead Of The Match

Pep Guardiola might have a full squad to choose from on Sunday. The City boss welcomed Erling Haaland who has missed their two previous matches due to injury sustained against Real Madrid back to training.

The Norwegian returned to training on Friday and is in contention to start on Sunday. Although, his absence wouldn’t prevent the Cityzens from imposing their game on their opponents. Despite his goal-scoring ability, Manchester City have many players with the same qualities; therefore, his absence has never been a problem for the team.

Nottingham Forest vs Man City Confirmed Match Officials

The match will be overseen by Simon Hooper who was appointed the center referee. The 41-year-old has officiated 31 matches across all competitions this season.

One of these matches was a Premier League clash between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium. He was subjected to media criticism for stopping City’s goal opportunity in stoppage time.

However, his last officiating involving Manchester City was less dramatic. He was the center referee during the Cityzens’ 2-0 victory against Newcastle United in the Emirates FA Cup.

Hooper will be assisted by Adrian Holmes and Simon Long who were appointed as the Assistant Referees. Peter Bankes and Gary Beswick will be Video Assistant Referees, while Tom Bramall was named as the Fourth Official.
