Manchester City summer signing Jeremy Doku has been compared to Brazilian legend Neymar.
The 21-year-old joined Manchester City from Stade Rennais for £55.5 million in August 2023, making him one of four new additions to Pep Guardiola’s squad alongside Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, and Matheus Nunes.
Despite interest from other Premier League clubs like Tottenham and West Ham, Doku chose to move to Manchester City.
Doku scored a memorable goal against West Ham at the London Stadium and has been performing well for Manchester City this season.
With four goals in total and 31 appearances, including starts in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, Doku is showcasing his talent.
His recent goal against Huddersfield Town and potential appearance in the upcoming international friendly against England at Wembley Stadium highlight his promising future with Manchester City.
Belgian teammate Thomas Meunier believes that Doku has the potential to follow in Neymar’s footsteps and have a successful career.
Meunier praised Doku’s talent and confidence, comparing him to Neymar and expressing confidence in his abilities to reach similar heights.
Doku’s fearless approach and natural ability have impressed his teammates, with Meunier highlighting his calm demeanor and potential for greatness.
Doku will be looking to make an impact in Manchester City’s upcoming match against Arsenal, with Guardiola hoping to have Kevin De Bruyne back in the lineup after recovering from a groin injury.
