Manchester City’s central defender, Ruben Dias, believes that the team has the potential to achieve back-to-back Treble wins this season.
While replicating the success of last season may be challenging, City is focused on the possibility of achieving another Treble victory as they approach the crucial stages of the current season.
The team is currently competing at the top of the Premier League alongside rivals like Liverpool and Arsenal. Their upcoming fixtures include matches against Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League, as well as UEFA Champions League and FA Cup actions in between.
In European competition, City will face FC Copenhagen with a 3-1 advantage from the last-16 first-leg, while Newcastle United will visit the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Ruben Dias acknowledges the importance of maintaining a strong performance to secure another Treble win.
“Every new year it is a new challenge and every new year we must overcome what we’ve done before,” insisted Ruben Dias.
“Even though what’s done is done and it’s beautiful, we know if we want to do it again we’ve got to go strong and deep again.”
He continued, “We are the same people. We are the same players being treble winners or not, that’s why we became treble winners last season. That’s why we want to win again.”
Manchester City’s unbeaten run of 19 games across all competitions, including a victory at the FIFA Club World Cup, exemplifies their determination and drive for success.
In their most recent match, City defeated Manchester United in the Manchester derby with a 3-1 victory, thanks to goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.
Dias highlights the team’s unity and determination to win again, emphasizing that their success stems from their collective effort as players.
As City navigates through a challenging season with multiple competitions at stake, Ruben Dias and his teammates are committed to giving their all to secure another Treble victory and continue their impressive run of form.
