Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has recently commented on his future at the Etihad Stadium amidst ongoing transfer rumors linking him to Real Madrid. The 23-year-old has been the subject of renewed speculation from the Spanish club, with talks of a potential release clause in his current contract with Manchester City.
Haaland, who is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, is currently in his second season with the Sky Blues after joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022. He made headlines in his debut season by breaking the Premier League goalscoring record with 52 goals in 53 appearances, contributing to Manchester City’s treble-winning campaign.
Despite missing six weeks due to a foot injury earlier in the season, Haaland continues to lead the race for the Premier League Golden Boot with 28 goals in 31 appearances. His recent standout performances include a goal against Manchester United and a five-goal haul in the FA Cup fifth round.
While Haaland has enjoyed success at Manchester City and speculation of a contract extension, rumors of a potential move to Real Madrid persist. Addressing these rumors ahead of a Champions League clash, Haaland expressed his happiness at Manchester City but did not rule out a future move to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Regarding a potential new contract, Haaland remained focused on his performances on the pitch, highlighting the upcoming fixtures and the need to concentrate on the games ahead. Manchester City is reportedly set to initiate contract talks with the striker, following in the footsteps of his international teammate Oscar Bobb, who recently signed a deal with the club until 2029.
