Manchester City is preparing for a challenging few months as they remain in three competitions, including the Champions League. Rodri is looking forward to facing Real Madrid and Jude Bellingham in the quarter-finals. City easily advanced to the last eight by defeating FC Copenhagen 6-2 on aggregate, but they will face a tougher test against Real Madrid next month.
City’s sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, expressed confidence despite concerns when the draw was made. The first leg against Real Madrid will take place on April 9, with City looking to replicate their impressive performance from last season’s victory over the Spanish giants. Rodri acknowledged Bellingham’s quality and the need for City to focus on their own performance to secure a win.
Bellingham, who has been a standout player for Borussia Dortmund this season, will be a key threat for Real Madrid. Despite his young age, Bellingham has shown his world-class abilities with 20 goals and nine assists in 31 appearances. Rodri, known as one of the best defensive midfielders, will be tasked with containing Bellingham in the upcoming clash. Pep Guardiola reportedly tried to convince Bellingham to join City last year, adding an extra layer of competition and motivation for the young English player.
