Manchester City fans have received an update on Kevin De Bruyne’s future at the Etihad Stadium from a reporter.
The 32-year-old attacking midfielder has been crucial to Manchester City’s success this year, playing a key role in Pep Guardiola’s system since returning from injury.
Despite concerns about De Bruyne’s longevity at the top level, there have been rumors of interest from Saudi Arabia for his services.
Saudi Pro League is known for targeting big-name European players, with De Bruyne and Salah reportedly on their radar this summer.
However, there’s a chance City may offer De Bruyne a new contract soon as his current deal expires next season.
In a recent Q&A session for the Manchester Evening News, reporter Simon Bajkowski shared insights on De Bruyne’s future and contract situation.
Bajkowski mentioned that there have been no talks yet about extending De Bruyne’s contract, despite interest from Saudi Pro League.
While De Bruyne has expressed his intent to stay at City, circumstances may change in the future, but it’s not a pressing concern at the moment.
Regardless of the contract situation, City is unlikely to let De Bruyne leave for a bargain, with reports suggesting a fee over £100 million would be needed.
Even if there’s a tempting offer from Saudi Arabia, De Bruyne’s move would depend on his willingness, with rumors suggesting an MLS switch in his later years.
Currently, De Bruyne and City are focused on their season goals, aiming for another Treble as they approach crucial fixtures in March and April.
