Manchester music legend Noel Gallagher has shared exciting details about Manchester City’s 2024/25 third kit, which pays homage to one of the industry’s most iconic albums.
This revelation comes amidst a wave of leaks and rejected concept designs surrounding Manchester City and PUMA’s upcoming releases for the next season.
The anticipation surrounding Manchester City’s new kits has sparked a flurry of concept designs becoming a reality behind the scenes.
Kit experts have had to sift through rejected designs to align with the new editions being released by City’s manufacturers, particularly the much-anticipated home shirt.
In a nod to Manchester City’s historic promotion-winning season of 1998/99, it has been leaked that the club’s new away shirt will feature a similar colorway to the jersey worn during that memorable season.
The away shirt is reminiscent of the one worn at Wembley Stadium and scored in by Paul Dickov against Gillingham.
Recently, music legend Noel Gallagher revealed during a conversation with BBC 5 Live Sport’s Friday Football Social that Manchester City will be honoring the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ ‘Definitely Maybe’ album with their third kit.
I can’t say too much, but it’s a Definitely Maybe-inspired third kit and it’s far-out,” Noel Gallagher explained. “I’ve seen it, I designed it. It’s got a massive picture of my head on all the tops,” he joked
“No, it’s great. It’s been a real honour to do it for the 30th anniversary. It’s amazing.”
This collaboration between Noel Gallagher and Manchester City adds a unique touch to the upcoming kit release, blending football and music in a special tribute to one of the most influential albums in British music history.
