John Obi Mikel has praised Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, stating that he has the best right foot in world football. De Bruyne joined Manchester City from Wolfsburg in 2015 for a fee of £55m and has been playing for the club for nine seasons now.
The 32-year-old has been recognized for his exceptional talent by Mikel, who was asked to pick a player with the best right foot in a recent video shared on Goal’s TikTok channel.
Mikel chose De Bruyne, acknowledging that Cristiano Ronaldo fans might not agree with his choice.
He said: “I know the [Cristiano] Ronaldo fans are going to kill me but I’m going to go [with] Kevin De Bruyne.”
De Bruyne has been an integral part of Manchester City’s success, having played a total of 361 games across all competitions and scoring 97 goals. He has also provided 155 assists during his time at the club.
Out of the 65 Premier League goals he has scored, 44 have been with his right foot and 21 with his left, showcasing his versatility and skill with both feet.
His contribution to the team, particularly with his right foot, has been undeniable and instrumental in the club’s achievements.
Despite being sidelined due to hamstring surgery, De Bruyne’s return to the team is anticipated to have a significant impact on Manchester City’s performance.
Given his track record and ability to deliver high-quality goal contributions, there is optimism that he will play a crucial role in the team’s pursuit of winning titles.
His presence on the field is viewed as key to Manchester City’s success, and his return has raised expectations for the team this season.
De Bruyne’s impact at Manchester City has solidified his position as one of the best signings the club has made in the past decade.
His skill, versatility, and contributions to the team make him a valuable asset and a player worthy of recognition for his exceptional talent, particularly in terms of his right foot prowess.
