Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Super agent Jorge Mendes plans to offer Marco Asensio to the club this summer.
The 27-year-old Spanish midfielder will be a free agent in the summer and he has decided not to extend his contract with the Spanish giants.
Asensio has struggled for regular game time at Real Madrid and he needs to leave in order to play more often. He has started just 15 league games this season.
The Spanish international’s future finally took a possibly definitive direction this week. In a meeting with Jose Angel Sanchez, the player’s entourage communicated that he was looking for a move away from the club.
PSG are reportedly interested in signing Asensio in the summer to fill in the hole that would be left by Lionel Messi’s potential departure as a free agent.
There are also interest from Italy and the Premier League. He is reportedly courting interest from Aston Villa, AC Milan, and Juventus.
According to Olt Sports via Twitter, Marco Asensio agent Jorge Mendes plans to offer the Real Madrid midfielder to Manchester City, Arsenal and Man Utd.
They claim that Asensio wants Champions League football – Mendes believes he could be the Bernardo Silva replacement at Manchester City.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@papomcfc: “Jorge Mendes is nuts”
@Andyrui52644212: “Do you know Bernardo?”
@Emerald_mf: “What makes you feel Asensio can replace Bernardo Silva, jokers 😂😂😂”
@Mzontsundu44260: “He’s no Bernardo Silva replacement”
@nickyflash1998: “Actually no he cannot replace Bernardo. We absolutely do not want Asensio at City.”
@JakePritchardFC: “As Backup then maybe. To Replace Bernardo hell no..”
@mcfcalfie: “I’d definitely take Asensio on a free, great quality there. Especially considering Mahrez is ageing and will soon decline. I don’t want him if Bernardo has to leave though, that’s idiotic..”
@irenkai7: “If he’s available for like 10-15M or free, get him for depth. Pep could unlock his potential”
