The month of August’s Etihad Player Of The Month nominations has been released with Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva shortlisted for the award.
Manchester City made an unbeaten start to the 2022/23 Premier League season and the nominated trio have been central to our fine form.
De Bruyne featured in all five of City’s games in August, scoring once and providing three assists. While Bernardo scored twice and provided two assists from his five appearances.
Meanwhile Haaland has hit the ground running since his summer arrival from Borussia Dortmund. He has already won Man of the Match on three of his first five appearances.
The Norwegian scored nine times in August – a Premier League record – netting a brace on his debut against West Ham and following it up with a strike at Newcastle before back-to-back hat-tricks at home to Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.
The announcement prompted Man City fans to share their thoughts on who should win the prize, although many were surprised that Bernardo Silva failed to make the list, despite his excellent recent form.
