Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola believes Jude Bellingham could eventually fill Kevin De Bruyne’s boots.
The highly-rated young England international has been a joy to watch in his time in the Bundesliga, and it would be exciting to see him in the Premier League ahead of what could be his peak years.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a whole host of top clubs in recent times, though The Athletic recently suggested his asking price could be as high as £131million.
Now it seems Dortmund could accept more like £83m as long as the fee is paid up front, which could give City the advantage, according to the Sun.
As per the report, City are certainly best-placed to do that, as well as offering the best chance of silverware – and the opportunity to link up with his old Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland.
It also claims Pep Guardiola rates Bellingham so highly that he believes he could eventually fill Kevin De Bruyne’s boots.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“At some point someone will replace DeBruyne. If you expect that person to fill his boots, you will be disappointed.”

“That final bit, if accurate, is really something when you’re comparing a 19-year-old midfielder – even as good and mature at an early stage in his career as Jude Bellingham – to Kevin De Bruyne..”
