Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has once again insisted that he and the club want to keep Bernardo Silva at the Etihad amidst interest from FC Barcelona.
The Spanish giants have been heavily linked with the Portuguese midfielder in recent weeks, and there were reports earlier this week that they had agreed a £46million fee with City for his services, but this has subsequently been denied by the English side.
Guardiola, who has been quite outspoken about the matter, had previously insisted that while he would want to keep hold of Silva, he would not stand in the way of the player if he wished to leave.
Reiterating his stance, the Manchester City manager has once again claimed that the Premier League champions want to keep the 28-year-old Portuguese ace at the club but does not know what the future holds.
“I said it last week. I want Bernardo Silva here at 100%, or at 110%. I want him, I want him and I want him. Because I love him. The reason why I’m a manager is because I can live and train with players and people, human beings like Bernardo,” Guardiola said.
“I’m weak when I talk about him because he’s a special person to me in these years. But I said it before, I don’t know what is going to happen. He knows how much we want him and we love him. At the same time, I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he added.
These Guardiola’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
