Pep Guardiola has provided an encouraging injury update on Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips and Nathan Ake.
Grealish has been side-lined since our win over Bournemouth just over a fortnight ago while Ake was forced off at Newcastle 10 days ago with a groin issue.
Phillips, meanwhile, picked up a knock in last week’s charity match away to Barcelona.
However, addressing the media at his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday night’s latest Premier League clash at home to Nottingham Forest, the boss provided an positive bulletin on the trio’s progress.
“I saw them in the training session, close, running on the other pitch with the ball. They are both, Nathan as well, much, much better,” Guardiola confirmed.
“We will see for Aston Villa (on Saturday) or the Champions League or the next one, Spurs. They are closer and we will need them as we have few players.”
