Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a season-long loan move for talented winger Cole Palmer.
The 20-year-old is highly rated at the Etihad Stadium and forms part of Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad.
But competition for places is fierce among the Premier League’s defending champions, meaning that minutes have proved hard to come by for the promising playmaker.
According to the Sun, Cole Palmer is wanted by Borussia Dortmund on loan for the season, but manager Pep Guardiola is reluctant to let him leave the club.
The Youngster has received just two minutes off the bench in the club’s opening three Premier League games and, with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden to name just a few ahead of him in the City pecking order is unlikely to see regular action any time soon.
Dortmund are looking to take advantage of his need for first-team football with an audacious loan bid.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“ I am content with him staying but Dortmund are really good at nurturing and developing youngsters ready to break through into first teams. I wouldn’t be totally against it.”

“City don’t have enough players at this point, he was just promoted to the senior squad this year and no longer playing for EDS….can’t see this going through unless a winger is signed.”
