Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the premier league champions have become the latest clubs to register their interest in Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
The Spanish defender has long been linked with a move to England, with both Tottenham and Manchester United strongly linked, but Man City are now keen on the Villarreal defender.
According to Graeme Bailey via 90min Football, Manchester City and Juventus have become the latest clubs to register their interest in Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
Nathan Ake is seemingly on his way out of the Etihad, and City will need a replacement – that’s where Torres comes into the equation.
Torres’ current contract has two years left to run, and as per the report, sources have confirmed that Villarreal fear losing him this summer.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“To do what exactly? For one, he’s beyond average. And why would he sit on the bench when he can start at clubs like United? Just price Chelsea out of Ake and keep him.”

“Honestly, I’d take him, under Pep he’d definitely improve, and we need a more solid CB next to Dias, But honestly Ake & Laporte are good enough. I really wish we could get an Italian CB next to Dias.”
