Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Southampton are ready to step up interest in Liam Delap.
The 19-year-old striker has been tipped for great things as he has shown glimpses of his potential in the junior ranks at Manchester City.
Contracted until 2026, Delap is a big prize in a devastatingly good City youth side and Guardiola is already aware of just how talented the youngster is.
“Liam Delap for me, for the club, is so important for the future,” Guardiola stated earlier this season. “At the end of last season, we said we had to extend the contract.
However, Guardiola has spent big money to sign Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, it could open the door for Delap to go and find a temporary home elsewhere in the Premier League as game time now might be more difficult to come by.
The Saints have been credited with an interest in the talented Manchester City teenager and could look to bring him to the south coast this summer.
Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu and midfielder Romeo Lavia have already Join Southampton this summer and it’s seems the Premier League side could look to bring another Man City youngster to the south coast this summer.
According to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, Southampton are ready to step up interest in Manchester City striker, Liam Delap.

Both Pep Guardiola and City now have a choice of two options to make. They could either give him more of a role in the City squad, potentially as a backup position to either (or both) Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. Or, he could be allowed to seek a loan move away from the Etihad Stadium.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“We should get at least £15m. Hoping to get closer to £20m. Buy-back clause at £40m-45m. It’s a win-win for all parties involved.”

“I would love this but a loan with option to extend for 2nd year or buy would benefit both clubs and player. If he is as good as we hope,he will develop and either come play as a back up to Haaland or stay and take us up a level. It’s a win win situation for all.”

“Would be a shame but he’s too talented to be 3rd choice.”

“They are just taking our whole academy but I don’t even really mind tbh, think Delap going there would be a great move.”
